All three of them disappeared. It happens sometimes, but no one can really figure out why as far as I can tell. You'll probably see it for yourself sooner or later.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'd learned about the disappearances, but I hadn't realized you'd gone through so many.

I'd be very sad if you or Shiro disappeared.

[This one takes a little while for him to reply to again. It's a topic that he tries not to take too personally, but it's hard to not feel invested in it when it keeps happening to you.]

The longer you stay here, the more you'll see things like that happen. That's really just how it is.

Hopefully Shiro and I won't ever put you through it, though.

[No apologies expected - and it’s probably for the best to delay letting her fall into the habit of apologizing for a little longer.

The sentiment is a little unexpected in it’s raw sincerity, and the pause in his reply this time mostly comes from trying to digest it.]

I’ll do the same for you, and for Shiro. We’re a team, so we have to watch each other’s backs as often as we can. Don’t hesitate to let me know if you ever need any help.
